In response to a question on yahoo regarding Noah’s Ark which asks for clarification as to the plausibility of fitting all species into a ship of that size and the genetic diversity problem of inbreeding, this reply stands out in the crowd:

You say a pound is how many grams?!

Just when you thought Yahoo! Answers was a reliable source of information, you see this little gem:

According to pixie66 there are 450 kilograms in a pound (450,000) so all we need to do is multiply how many pounds to 450 (??? 450*450,000 = 202,500,000) and convert that to grams.

There you have it, just shy of a quarter million grams in a pound, just the answer I was looking for!
